51 Kilometers from Tulum (32mi) is located the Biosphere of Sian Ka’an. This is a nature reserve declared by UNESCO world heritage site in 1987. It has a great variety of flora and fauna. Among the species of fauna that inhabit this place are; Jaguar, monkey, puma, ocelot and many varieties of birds with exotic plumage. Also, it is home of many turtles that come to spawn.
